Renewable energy group

In the context of growing climate awareness and growing concern about negative impacts that arise from the exploitation of fossil-based energy resources, renewable energy (RE) is being promoted as one way of achieving sustainable energy provision. The group conducts research that aims at contributing knowledge and solutions to the technological, social and economic challenges of RE. Some of the local challenges to the development of the RE sector are: technical know-how, policy and regulatory instruments, and financing.

Current research themes are: energy-water nexus, renewable energy & water treatment, renewable energy system modelling, and distributed power generation.
